Cistercian Preparatory School says

Cistercian Preparatory School opened in 1962 with 50 boys in grades 4 and 5.

Today, enrollment totals 355 students in grades 5-12 with 1,348 alumni.

The school graduated its first class in 1970.

Our student to faculty ratio is 7:1, with 54% of our faculty holding advanced degrees and 17% holding a PhD or an equivalent degree.

Our student body is culturally and economically diverse, historically representing around 25 different elementary schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Cistercian Preparatory School is accredited by the Independent School Association of the Southwest (ISAS). ISAS, a member of the NAIS Commission on Accreditation that has voluntarily submitted to a rigorous and impartial review of its accreditation program and demonstrated its adherence to the Commission’s Criteria for Effective Independent School Accreditation Practices. ISAS is commended by NAIS for the quality of the Association’s accreditation program for its Member Schools.

Cistercian Preparatory School is accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. In cooperation with the diocesan school offices, the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department oversees the accreditation of Catholic elementary and secondary schools of Texas. The Education Department is assisted by the Texas Catholic Conference Accreditation Commission and is a part of the state-approved Texas Private School Accreditation Commission.

Mission Statement

Cistercian Preparatory School was founded with the aim of preparing talented boys for the colleges of their choice by challenging their minds with excellent academic programs, molding their characters through the values of Catholic education, and offering them guidance with both understanding and discipline.
