Reid Temple Christian Academy (RTCA) offers a Christ-centered education with emphasis in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The school serves approximately 300 students in pre-K (age two) through grade eight at their one campus located in Glenn Dale, Maryland. RTCA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization sponsored and supported in part by the Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church located on the same campus. RTCA is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Our students are immediately prepared to embrace the full aspect of knowing which is hard to accomplish in the traditional bureaucracy of public school systems. Our teachers have created a Community of Learners where everyone participates in the answering process and analysis, which creates effective group learning dynamics.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
