Bethel Christian School was founded by the church to provide a quality education for African-American children within a Christian environment. The school is designed to provide an atmosphere where all children may grow and develop academically and spiritually. It provides a balanced and challenging state-approved curriculum for children grades Pre-K through 5. Bethel Christian School is located at 505 West Lanvale Street, Baltimore, MD, right across the street from the church. The school opened its doors in 1983 to children from kindergarten through 2nd grade. The school was named the Alphonso A. McLauren Academy of Learning after Brother Alphonso McLauren, who faithfully served as the church treasurer for more than forty years. The building, which currently houses the Bethel Christian School, is the original building. The school's pre-kindergarten class has a maximum of 13 children. Kindergarten through 5th grade have a maximum of 15 students each. Before and after school care is available.
