Overview

Fay School says

Fay School is a traditional yet contemporary coed independent school for students in Pre-K through grade 9. The School is composed of 355 day students from 40 Metro-West towns, along with 120 boarding students (5-day and 7-day, in grades 7-9) from 20 countries and across the U.S., creating an authentic global community just 25 miles west of Boston.

Beginning in Pre-K and Kindergarten, Fay’s educational program instills a love of learning and develops students’ skills in critical thinking, writing, reading, public speaking, quantitative analysis, and problem solving. The School’s new Innovation Center engages students in design thinking and builds their creative confidence. The School places a strong emphasis on responsibility, kindness, and respect.

In a small, closely-knit community where each student is known well, Fay students participate in a wide variety of academic, athletic, artistic, and service activities on their way to becoming confident, actively engaged citizens. Because they are so well prepared and make such a positive impact, Fay’s graduates are highly sought-after by selective secondary schools.

Mission Statement

The mission of Fay School is to educate each child to his or her full potential through a broad, balanced, and challenging program that establishes a solid foundation for a productive and fulfilling life.

Financial Aid Information

At Fay School, we are committed to building a community of learners from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. To this end, for the 2016-17 school year, Fay will award $2 million in financial aid to qualified applicants at every grade level, Pre-Kindergarten through grade nine. At Fay, financial aid is offered in the form of grants that (unlike loans) do not need to be paid back. Grants are dependent on each family’s financial need and have ranged from 5% to 95% of the cost of tuition. In every case, Fay works closely and confidentially with each family to ensure that qualified students have access to a Fay education.

Finance

Finance

Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
