The College School engages children, ages three to fourteen, in joyful, meaningful and creative learning through an adventurous, theme-based, experiential curriculum. Our diverse community works as a partnership, cultivating excellence in academics, character and collaboration, as we prepare students for life-long learning, service and citizenship. Classes include art, drama, music, PE and Spanish. The early childhood program incorporates the Reggio philosophy, drawn from the internationally renowned schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. At The College School, we seek to foster in children a deep commitment to their own learning. Our basic goal is to have children develop a joy in learning. Our students explore their world and actively master academic skills, while developing self-confidence and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. Students are actively engaged in learning in a hands-on way both inside and outside the classroom. Theme studies capture students' imaginations and allow the children to immerse themselves in a focused area of study. Fields of inquiry are integrated across the curriculum. Learning is meaningful, relevant, real and exciting.
