Belmont Preparatory High School was founded in 2002 as a high school for academically talented students throughout the community. The curriculum is based in the humanities and uses an interdisciplinary approach to infuse language arts throughout the curriculum so that students are truly college and career-ready upon graduation.


Early College Awareness initiatives include: College Next Door, Local Tours, College Awareness Seminars, Guest Lectures, Town Hall Meetings, Just for Girls Seminars, Turn to Her, His Story, SAT Preparation, Saturday Academy for Bilingual Enrichment, Fordham University Science Technology Entry Program, Bronx Community College, College Now, Mentoring Latinas, College Bound @ Fordham University for English Language Learners, Work Study, Student Service Organization, Smith College Summer Program, POSSE Foundation, New York Knicks' Poetry Jam, The Science Barge, Forensic Science Program, Excursions and Field Trips including trips to New England, Philadelphia, PA, Washington, DC, Rome, Italy

This early college awareness seminar is geared to foster a true understanding of what it will mean to be college and career ready. By helping students realize at an early age what this transition will be like, we will help inform them of college's, academic, social, financial, and personal rewards as we address their areas of concern and build on their strengths.
