Overview

Assets School says

Assets School is located in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is an independent school for gifted and/or dyslexic children attending grades K-12. Assets School provides students with knowledge, skills, and capabilities to live rich and meaningful lives, advance in their chosen careers, and improve communities in which they live and work. Whether through acceleration or remediation, Assets offers a supportive environment where classes are small and the curriculum is individualized to meet each student’s specific needs. Students with learning differences, needing a structured language intervention program, are supported through multi-sensory approaches such as Orton-Gillingham, Slingerland, Project Read and Assets’ own Advanced Language Curriculum. Students of high potential are supported through Kaplan’s Differentiated-Integrated model as well as Renzulli’s model. A selection of elective and enrichment courses for all students are balanced between Technology and the Arts and encourage curiosity, self-expression and the acquisition of skills and concepts. Our high school's Mentorship program helps students make the connection between school and work.
