Bloomfield Maples Montessori Center was founded in 1983 in a specially constructed building on 2 acres of land conveniently located on Maple Road. The school philosophy is based on a strong commitment to principles of respect, integrity, academic excellence and peace education. The program is staffed by experienced Montessori teachers, certified by American Montessori Society with support staff members that combine qualities of competence, warmth and experience. Each classroom is a beautiful, orderly and rich environment where children are encouraged to work with challenging Montessori materials in the areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Reading, Geography, Science, Spanish, Music and Art. The outdoor play area has gardening plots as well as equipment for young children. Special programs include Dance, Computers, Gymnastics, Taekwondo and Yoga.
We also offer a 7 to 8 week summer program that is theme based with lots of fun and outdoor play but also continues to focus on advancing academic skills.
Montessori classrooms learn through self-directed discovery, cultivating concentration, self-discipline and a love of learning. The teachers are specially trained to guide the process offering materials that build upon concepts. Each child learns at their own pace and learning style.
Bloomfield Maples Montessori is dedicated to cultivating the development of each child’s potential through the Montessori principles. Our intent is to offer a comprehensive education leading to independent thought, self-directed learning and problem solving. Under the direction of experienced Montessori directresses in a specially prepared environment we are committed to nurturing each child intellectually, emotionally and socially. Our goal is to develop each individual into a responsible contributor to the global community by focusing on building confidence, empathy for others and the development of character, social responsibility and leadership.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
