Poseidon School opened as a non-profit secondary day school, by Rod and Barbara Fryer. Poseidon Day School provided a small, tightly structured, campus environment where successful learning is achieved. Eventually, the california department of education and lausd realized that these kids needed other placement. Poseidon then became one of the many non-public school which received partial funding from the district and clearance certification from the state to serve these students. For 38 years, Poseidon has run a highly beneficial and triumphant program while also serving mainly at risk youth for the past 20 years.
