St. Mary School is a coeducational private Catholic traditional school for students in grades Pre-K through 8.
Founded in the mid-1800s, Saint Mary School was the first school founded by the Sisters of Mercy in New Jersey. St. Mary?s has served the Bordentown community through three centuries. In the fall of 2000, the sisters took leave of the school, but the Mercy tradition of a loving and caring environment lives on through the work of its lay staff. The building that now serves St. Mary School was erected in 1888 and entered the new millenium under the spiritual guidance of Reverand Father Michael Burns and the academic guidance of principal, Mrs. MaryEllen Moss. As a Catholic School in the Diocese of Trenton, St. Mary?s is committed to the development of each individual student in a Christ centered environment. Together with our families, we share the awesome responsibility for the total education of the student. Our school is strongly committed to academic excellence. By emphasizing excellence we hope to encourage all students to reach their God given potential. Our faith calls us to be responsible Christians in a complicated world. We have a mission to help our students see the value of justice, peace, and service as is so clearly set forth in the Gospel message. St. Mary School is part of a faith filled parish community. Through participation in parish life we encourage our students to see themselves as members of God?s family. St. Mary School believes that every child can make a difference and calls its students to actively participate in their church, school, and community.
