Overview

Overview

Sonoran Desert School says

Sonoran Desert School has operated as a public, non-profit charter school since 1998. We currently serve grades 5-12 in Gold Canyon, AZ. Our school individualizes the learner’s experience through a blended model of instruction that increases accessibility, provides instructors with efficient ways to monitor performance, provides continuous feedback, and fully integrates standards-based instruction with prescriptive assessment. This means building meaningful connections between the content, information, and data that is associated with both the educational program and the people who interact with it and within it.

Curriculum

SDS utilizes comprehensive digital curricula from Edgenuity (9-12) and the Anywhere Learning System (5-8) to support individualized instruction in a blended learning environment.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide an alternative educational setting that emphasizes individualization supported by technology in order to assist students with overcoming academic, behavioral, and social challenges while increasing academic performance and facilitating the earning or recovery of academic credits as a precursor to achieving a high school diploma and successfully transitioning to postsecondary studies.
