Gateway Christian School began as Gateway Christian Academy in 1976. It was established as a ministry of Gateway Baptist Church with the purpose of providing Bible-based education for our children. Realizing that "a three-fold chord is not easily broken", we believe that Christian education begins in the home first and that both the church and school should work hand-in-hand with parents to "train up a child". GCS focuses on academic excellence. All teaching is from a Christian perspective. We believe it is important to train students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. We believe that the Bible is God's Word and the final authority in matters of faith, principle, and practice. We believe in the literal Genesis' account of Creation and that man was created in the image of God for the purpose of bringing Him glory. Our educational process is dependent on a Biblical philosophy that provides the right world view so that children will be prepared for their place in the home, the church, and the community.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
