St. John de la Salle Catholic School was founded in 1948 for English-speaking Catholics in the Rosemoor district at the northern end of Roseland. The combination church/school building was completed in 1950. The school was founded by the Religious Sisters of Notre Dame. St. John de la Salle Catholic Academy of Fine Arts has been one of Chicago's premiere elementary schools for more than a half century!
