Since 1963, North Springs has been committed to educating and preparing students for the world that awaits them. Accredited by the Georgia Department of Education and AdvanceEd, North Springs is an outstanding comprehensive, college-preparatory high school - the most diverse in the Fulton County School system. We offer students the only dual arts and sciences magnet programs in Georgia and the choice of four Academies. The goal at North Springs is to Find Yourself Here. We want students to discover and pursue their interests and passions through their core classes and elective choices; to become engaged, successful learners while enjoying the fun of being a high school student. NSCHS offers countless clubs and activities, sports, leadership and community service opportunities and requires students to be involved in at least two.

The Academies at North Springs North Springs is organized into four Academies or smaller learning communities with a specific academic and career focus. The Academies at North Springs are: The Career Technical & Leadership Academy (CTL), The Humanities Academy, The Math & Science Academy and The Visual & Performing Arts Academy. Each Academy offers three diploma options of increasing rigor: the Academy Diploma, the Advanced Diploma and at the highest level the Distinguished Diploma for CTLA and Humanities Academy students and the Magnet Diploma for magnet students in the Math & Science and/or Visual & Performing Arts Academies.
The Magnet Programs at North Springs North Springs offers two interest-based magnet programs in math and science and visual and performing arts, the only school in the Fulton County School System and the State to offer both. Since the inception of the math/science component in 1990 and the arts component in 1996, the magnet programs have grown and attract students from throughout Fulton and surrounding counties. Students must apply to participate in the magnet programs. A minimum GPA of 85 is required for the Math/Science magnet and an 80 GPA for Visual/Performing Arts (VPA). Students may also participate in both and are called dual magnet students.

Public charter schools are supported through lower levels of direct, public funding, as well as though private subsidies. As with district public schools, they do not charge tuition to students who attend them.
