The Arbor School is a pioneer school in Houston that provides intensive educational intervention with a 2:1 student/teacher ratio, for children with all forms of developmental disabilities, birth through age eighteen. The Arbors primary goal is to assist infants and young children in developing motor, social, self-help, communication, and problem-solving skills that will permit the greatest degree of independent functioning. Study after study has shown that intensive, well-designed educational intervention improves the long-term prospects and quality of life for developmentally disabled children. The Arbor School has achieved significant success with hundreds of Houston area handicapped children since its founding in 1988.
