Since 1972, Omaha Christian Academy (OCA) has been providing a Christian education to Pre-school through 12th grade children in the greater Omaha area. OCA exists to partner with Christian parents and the church to provide a Christ-Centered education of academic excellence, spiritual depth, and moral integrity which will prepare students for godly participation in our society and promote loyalty to God and country. OCA is fully accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the North Central Association (NCA).
The philosophy of Omaha Christian Academy is based on the biblical teaching that the “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge.” The reverence, respect, and knowledge of God is the foundation for all that we know and how we put what we know into practice. We also believe that the Christian school is an extension of the Christian home-working together with the home and the local church to train the child. The Christian school is to be a happy Christian community for learning where a dedicated faculty, with abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is a genuine affection for children, exemplify mutual consideration for one another and for those with whom they come in contact.
The mission of Omaha Christian Academy is to equip students to act justly by demonstrating honesty, respect, responsibility, and discipline, and by applying knowledge in order to perform successfully as students, citizens and workers; to love mercy by demonstrating Christian compassion to all, especially in sharing the gospel; to walk humbly with God by being a student of the word, a defender of the truth, and a willing servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
