San Diego Jewish Academy's Full Profile

San Diego Jewish Academy says

San Diego Jewish Academy offers infants to high school seniors a unique learning environment that culminates in some of the nation's highest-achieving students. By developing students both scholastically and ethically, our graduates are prepared for the most challenging course of all: LIFE. Early Childhood Center: SDJA's Early Childhood Development Program offers children from six weeks to five years old an active environment that helps them develop cognitively, socially and emotionally. SDJA provides its students - toddlers, wobblers and preschoolers - with a warm environment that helps students develop the building blocks of learning. At Golda Meir Lower School, our students are placed in a nurturing environment that encourages critical thinking and exploration, which helps your child begin on a path of growth and lifelong learning. Through diversity of subject matter, Golda Meir Lower School offers its students a holistic education with special courses in art, music, computers, physical education, library activities, kosher cooking and science - along with all of our core academics. With a pluralistic approach to Judaism, language acquisition and an understanding of the richness of Jewish culture are also an integral part of the lower school experience. Maimonides Upper School students attend schools like Yale, Princeton, Stanford and numerous UC Colleges and over half of our faculty have graduate degrees. In this type of environment, rigorous testing and text book education would likely be commonplace. That is not the case and we encourage you to speak to our students if you tour our campus. We understand that in order to truly engage and educate a child, we first need to understand them. By offering our students personalized attention, they are able to develop relationships with their teachers, and in the same respect, our teachers understand them. This fosters an innate sense of community at our school, which truly enhances your child's education.

Mission Statement

A pluralistic preschool - high school serving the Jewish community, our mission is to further academic excellence, social responsibility, and active Jewish living.
