St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School says

Founded in 1851, St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School has been providing academic excellence in the Catholic tradition for over 164 years. Classes are co-educational in early childhood (2PK, PK, JK and SK) and junior high (7 & 8) and single gender in lower (1-6) and upper (females grades 9-12) schools. In a close-knit, nurturing environment, teachers customize curricula to match students' developmental and gender specific needs. A 1:1 laptop school since 2002, SAA-SDS is a leader in the integration of technology into the curriculum and has been named an Apple Distinguished School for six consecutive years. Students have access to an advanced technology research center with a Cybrary and Distance Learning Center where students of all ages engage in virtual classroom experiences, touring art museums and zoos, participating in debates, and studying with students, professors, and experts from all around the world.

An Early Childhood Center, opened in 2010, provides students with an interactive learning experience. French, Spanish, and Mandarin are taught in the Lower School, and Jr. High classes study Latin. In the Upper School a variety of honors and Advanced Placement courses enrich the rigorous curriculum.

Our vibrant fine arts program is enhanced by three art studios, two music rooms, a 300-seat performing arts center and a music conservatory program. In athletics, SAA was named the Best of the Preps Champion Female Division in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

In the Dominican tradition, students learn to integrate study, prayer, community, and service with academic excellence. It is the School's vision to mold young women and men of moral courage and ethical wisdom, instilled with the desire and ability to make the world a better place.

Mission Statement

Woven into the fabric of daily life, the tenets of Catholic teaching are an integral part of a St. Agnes-St. Dominic education. As a Catholic independent school, we seek to inspire our students to foster a peaceful pursuit of truth through the Gospel teachings of Jesus Christ.

The Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine, Kentucky founded St. Agnes Academy in 1851 and St. Dominic School in 1956. Today SAA-SDS continues to be sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Peace.

The Four Pillars of the Dominican Charism - Study, Prayer, Community and Service - provide a foundation for students, sustaining the unique St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School experience. Veritas is the mission of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Founded on Catholic principles and enriched by Dominican spirituality, St. Agnes-St. Dominic educates young people to pursue Veritas (truth) through study and prayer and to build Veritas in our world through community and service.
