Saint John of the Cross is a Catholic Elementary School. We educate children from Preschool through Eighth Grade. We stress the traditions of the Catholic Church and the teachings of Jesus Christ. We have a loving, competent faculty and supportive, involved parents. Our students often cite the feeling of "family" when asked what is special about St. John of the Cross School. The mission of St. John of the Cross School is to serve the educational needs of the child in an environment that upholds the ideals of the Catholic Church. We are committed to working closely with the parents to impart a sound academic education in accordance with each student's unique and God-given talents, communicating the teachings of the Catholic Church, and preparing our students to recognize their potential, develop a positive self-image, and become self-directed, life-long learners. Our curriculum is developed by the Office of Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and is based on Pennsylvania state standards. Students receive daily instruction in our core curriculum of religion, integrated language arts, mathematics, science and social studies as well as weekly instruction in technology, music and physical education.
