The Discovery Center was established in 1982 by Anne Tyndall, who received her Masters Degree in Montessori Education from Xavier University in 1977. She is certified by the American Montessori Society. The Discovery Center is a pre-primary program for children ages 3-6. The classrooms are divided into Every day Living, Sensorial, Language Arts, Science and Geography areas. There is also a large-muscle room and a large, well-equipped and fenced outdoor play area.
Private schools, including parochial and boarding, are funded through tuition and fees. The cost varies from school to school, but most families pay tuition to attend them. Many private schools offer financial aid or discounts, so it's worthwhile to ask about these options.
