University Heights Secondary School's Full Profile

University Heights Secondary School says

University Heights High School is a college preparatory high school whose mission is to be a high school that feels like college. Our school is structured like a college program in which students are able to choose from rigorous college preparatory courses and take college courses on site with college professors. Students at University Heights High School are given voice and choice and register online for elective classes each semester. All students are required to take college courses through our partnership with CUNY. Students in the Honors and Early College program are required to take a minimum of two college classes per year. Additionally, upperclassmen can apply for an executive internship program in which they gain real-world experience in fields of medicine, business, law, culinary arts, architecture, education, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). University Heights High School is an iZone 360 school and specializes in innovative and authentic learning practices. Our students benefit from our unique 4-day rotational schedule, technology in the classroom, and project-based learning. Our community partners provide over 30 extracurricular programs and opportunities for our students. As part of our community outreach and in an effort to promote financial literacy, students are able to manage and cultivate our large organic urban SPIN farm located on school grounds. We value diversity in who we are and what we do as we develop confident, independent, and global thinkers fully prepared for the 21st century.
