Academically, our students achieve some of the highest standardized test scores in Orange County. Our music, art, science, and sports programs receive recognition with many students earning awards at science fairs, sports tournaments, art shows, and music/drama performances. We appreciate our involved parent community and encourage open communication as we all strive for excellence in education.


Preschool Philosophy Fairmont students thrive in a safe and secure learning environment, where passionate educators are committed to students’ academic, social, and character development. Our youngest Fairmont students benefit from a program that blends advanced academics, purposeful play, and developmentally appropriate activities. Children who go through Fairmont’s early childhood program will master key literacy and math skills by the time they enter kindergarten. They will also have been exposed to enriching activities like dramatic play, technology, music appreciation, and art. These experiences and learning opportunities give them a competitive edge when entering our academically accelerated elementary school program.

JK-8 Philosophy Philosophy Fairmont Private Schools has a rich history rooted in tradition and academic excellence. With over 60 years of educational experience, Fairmont prides itself on providing students an individualized education with an advanced curriculum allowing them to accelerate in language arts and math. Our rigorous academics are enhanced with innovative technology tools in our integrated classrooms. In addition to our core curriculum, we also offer students opportunities to develop an appreciation for the fine arts and foreign language. Field Trips Fairmont offers a multitude of experiences that extend learning far beyond the classroom. Students participate in day trips, outdoor science camps and overnight study trips throughout the year. They visit Sacramento, the Grand Canyon, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Washington, D.C., Catalina Island, and more. Character Education Program Fairmont students (P-8) develop a solid foundation of character and ethics for life through discussions and activities based on the six pillars of Character Counts. These pillars include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. These important qualities are encouraged throughout the day in the classroom, athletic fields and in other settings. Fairmont also embraces Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (at school). This program helps students (preschool through twelfth grade) think about the decisions they make and prepares them for future leadership roles. The 7 Habits are the following: Be Proactive - I am responsible for my actions Begin with the End in Mind - I plan ahead and set goals Put First Things First - I set priorities, make a schedule and follow my plan Think Win-Win - I build trust and look for various ways to resolve conflicts Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood - I listen before I talk Synergize - I value other people's strengths and learn from them Sharpen the Saw - I find the right balance between school, health, family, and friends Community Service Fairmont students participate in a variety of community service opportunities. Among the many engagements and projects, Fairmont parents and students have donated their hair to Locks of Love, which provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. For junior high students, 12 community service hours are required for promotion. In high school, the yearly requirement is 24 hours. Fairmont Preparatory Academy encourages students to make a difference in the local community by participating in one of many community service events such as CHOC Disneyland Walk in the Park, Canning Hunger Food Drive, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Pennies for Patients, Senior Saturday, and much more. During Fairmont Prep's Travel Week, which annually provides opportunities to discover and explore both national and international destinations, high school students have visited New Orleans to help in Hurricane Katrina clean-up operations. They have traveled to Fiji and Costa Rica to repair and improve schools and libraries in impoverished communities. The students have even cleaned up beaches on the shores of Hawaii. Clubs Junior high and high school students participate in a wide variety of student-initiated, faculty-sponsored clubs. Fairmont Forensics teams have received national and regional recognition from earning top scores in debate competitions. The Prep Robotics-Team 4913 Huskyteers participate in the annual FIRST Robotics Competition. Sample of Elementary and Junior High Campus Clubs: Debate Club - Junior High Cougar Chorus - 3-5th grade Recycling Club - Junior High Year Book Club - Junior High At Fairmont Preparatory Academy, there are more than 40 academic, social and service clubs for students to gain leadership experience, serve the community and meet friends with common interests. ASB The Associated Student Body (ASB) gives our future leaders first-hand experience in the elective process, representative leadership, organizational skills and service to the school community. Competitions Fairmont students participate, and in many cases, receive top honors in the following: Word Masters Math Olympics Academic Pentathlon FIRST Robotics Academic Decathlon County, state and national debate tournaments Debate Team Competitions Spelling Bees Science Fair Art, music and science competitions Art To enrich the "whole child," Fairmont complements its rigorous academic programs with vibrant art and music programs throughout the day. Our student artists receive many accolades. Our thriving artistic community is designed to inspire our students' creative expression. Special classes are also available in art and music to all students beginning in preschool. Performing Arts Students may participate in band, orchestra, ensemble, choir, as well as musical and dramatic stage productions. Fine Arts Instruction begins in the early grades and extends through AP Art in high school. Many students' works of art receive recognition in regional and national competitions.
