A career fair is an event where potential employers can meet with students in order to consider them for a job. Typically occurring over a day or weekend, career fairs can be general or focused around a specific industry or field of study. Students, typically seniors or juniors, will choose to meet with a number of employers for semi-formal interviews and to learn more about companies. Many job offers are extended at career fairs though it is by no means a guarantee. It can be a great way to meet companies in a desired field of interest and to gain valuable contacts, or even a position.
