I'm a graduate of Stanford University five years out, and have worked mainly in the nonprofit sector for the past few years. I'm currently studying web development techniques and programming languages. In a year, I hope to be a web developer making websites for nonprofits. I've previously tutored essay writing, English as a Second Language, and worked with youth in a Filipino community center. I feel most competent as a tutor in the humanities, but also have a hidden love for geometry, computer programming and tricky pre-Calculus problems. I'm happy to give back so that others can have the same amazing educational experiences that I've had! In my own experiences with school, I've often struggled to keep up with demanding material. I encourage students to be kind to themselves, and to set realistic goals so they don't get overwhelmed. Setting realistic and appropriate learning goals is the first step toward incremental growth.Fun Facts: I have so many hobbies that they're hard to keep up with! This past summer I started growing vegetables in my backyard and made bread from a homemade sourdough starter. I play guitar and will soon perform with a local improv comedy troupe.
