Sam is a first-year medical student at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Originally from Colorado, he graduated cum laude from the University of Puget Sound with a BS in Mathematics. He went on to work in Atmospheric Science research at the University of Washington. Though he was asked to apply to the PhD program, he decided to switch career paths and pursue a career in medicine. Sam has over four years of teaching experience as a private tutor in calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as a teaching assistant in general chemistry. When Sam is not studying or working with students he can be found running along the Hudson River Greenway, biking through the Palisades Parkway or daydreaming about skiing back home in Colorado.
