I am an Atlanta native now located in Charlotte after completing my college degree in Chemistry at Wingate University. I found Wingate because of my desire to play softball in college and am now proud to call North Carolina home. I am married to a wonderful man who complements me well. He is an accountant and I love science. It's perfect! I nanny two wonderful girls in my "other" time and love to see them discover life. I have had the pleasure to partner with other students in the studies through tutoring in college. I helped my teammates and many others on campus come to realize that they have much greater potential than they think. Tutoring has been a great place for me to assist others in their struggle, but also to learn so much as well. I love to see the "light bulb" go off and a huge smile of success across their faces when they finally make the break through. I have been told that I am smart because I have a degree in Chemistry. My reply to that is I am gifted to understand Chemistry just like Accountants are gifted to understand accounting. I believe that everybody has been given gifts and it is important to enhance those gifts while encouraging well roundedness. It is important to me to see each student discover things for his/herself. I do this through approaching questions and drawing the issue back to its foundation. I have found that typically bringing each student back to the "on ramp" helps in success. Many times because classes go so fast the case is not about ability, but about foundational understanding. I seek to enable students to succeed, not succeeding for them. Fun Facts: I am a HUGE sports fan! I played softball in college and now settle for cheering my Atlanta Braves on to wins! I thoroughly enjoyed school and am excited to help others pursue their interests as well. I love to read and am can say that I read every Harry Potter book the night they came out! I love to bake....not cook!
