Greetings! My name is Ryan and I have been involved in music for over 13 years now. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2010, I moved to Seattle to pursue my career in music. Since I've moved I have been teaching lessons, performing in musicals, performing at weddings/events, and playing with my rock band all over the country. I love and respect every type of music there is but I have always excelled and found myself happiest in Rock. Some of the bands that have influenced me in music and that I still listen to to this day are: Blink 182, Yellowcard, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, No Doubt, Metallica, and such hard rock acts as Periphery, A Day To Remember, and many others. It is hard to get a good gauge on who I am as a person through a website so please feel free to call or message me for more information or, of course, book a lesson! Best, -Ryan M. *** Lesson Details *** You are here on this website, which means you or someone you know wants to learn music and I am here to make that happen! Our first lesson will be me figuring out what you want out of lessons. Some questions and us talking for a bit will lead to the necessary information I need to develop a personal lesson curriculum for you. My goal is to seamlessly intertwine all the fun and beautiful aspects of music with the theory and knowledge that has been around for hundreds of years. I believe in having fun at lessons because music is supposed to be fun! I also like looking at music as a whole. It may just be a guitar or bass lesson on the outside, but it is really a MUSIC lesson as a whole. Music has always been more than one instrument and our lessons will reflect that. It is not uncommon for us to be learning a song or an idea and take a minute to reflect on another aspect of what's going on if it is of musical importance/relevance. This will help you become not just an excellent instrumentalist, but an amazing musician. In the end, I can guarantee the lessons to be fun, informative, and unique to you! *** Travel Equipment *** I own a bass guitar, an electric/acoustic guitar, cables, and an amp. Any instructional books I feel may be beneficial will be purchased when a couple lessons have passed and I know who you are and what your goals are. *** Specialties *** I am fluent in all styles of music but I specialize in rock, R&B, funk, groove, and hard rock.

Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
