Yoke Peng Leong's Full Profile
Note: Please contact me via Facebook message to arrange for time. I don't usually check the messages in this site. I am a PhD student at Caltech. I was a tutor for student athletes at Northwestern University for two years. I helped students in engineering analysis (linear algebra, MATLAB, mechanics, system analysis), calculus and physics. My students are satisfied with our sessions, and they came back to me every quarter. Before I became a tutor, I was a GSW facilitator for engineering analysis (linear algebra, MATLAB, mechanics, system analysis) where I facilitated weekly group study for engineering freshman. I am a native speaker for Chinese. So, I will be able to help students who are interested in learning more about the language and culture. I can be your Chinese language speaking partner for you to practice speaking the language. Having said that, I am fluent in English, and hence, I do not have any issue communicating with my students during my tutoring sessions for the past few years. I enjoy playing violin, biking, reading and traveling asides from engineering, math and science. =)

About Tutor Matching Service
Tutor Matching Service works with universities to connect students with expertise with students who need help. There tutors are generally low cost (or sometimes even volunteer) tutors who work within their university community. Tutors don't receive vetting or training from Tutor Matching Service, but some individual schools may train or certify their tutors. We'd advise checking the profile of any tutor you're considering using for school certification, ratings, and reviews.
Tutor Matching Service says
Tutor Matching Service was created to increase access to one-on-one education and in doing so promote student success. Tutor Matching Service was originally piloted and financially sponsored by a handful of university tutoring centers (learning centers), career centers, and student governments including IUPUI, Caltech, Purdue, NYU Poly, and Kent State University. At most colleges and universities, there is no tutoring available for upper level chemistry, physics, math, languages, and other courses. College learning centers get frequent phone calls and emails from parents looking for college tutors.
