I have been teaching in traditional classrooms for over 10 years, and concurrently online for the last 5. What makes me successful as an instructor is that I do not adhere to one dominant teaching style. Rather, I have found that students respond best when the course requirements match their individual learning style. Encouraging students to think “out of the classroom” can assist them not only in becoming better students, but in becoming more critical thinkers in general. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (graduate of Campuswide Honors Program) from the University of California, Irvine, a Masters of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Southern California.
