I have been teaching private music lessons since 2003 and specialize in Vocals and both beginner Guitar and Violin. My education in music began long ago in 1994 when I began playing violin and performed in different Orchestras and Chamber Orchestras throughout my years in school. I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston to study violin performance, have an associates degree in Music Performance, and have studied with many well know instructors over the years. My teaching style is based on a fun, creative, and informative knowledge to get you feeling confident right away with what we are working on together! I love teaching Rock, Pop, and Blues styles for Vocals and Guitar and have a long history of classical training for Violin. You will get to learn what you want to learn and I will help you every step of the way to get you to reach your goals! My professional music performance experience has recently allowed me to play venues such as The TLA, Radio 104.5 Live at 5, The Legendary Dobb's, Bethlehem Musikfest, Boot and Saddle, and other Philadelphia area venues with my Garage Rock band 'La Capitaña'! I look forward to sharing my knowledge of music with you! *** Lesson Details *** Lessons always begin with warm-ups and technique exercises. We then begin working on the song of your choice. If you are doing Voice with me, I will accompany you with guitar so you can experience what it's like to sing with a live instrument. If you have specific areas of focus I will attend to any needs you have and we will achieve your goals! An audio recording of warm-ups or the song we are working on can be made and sent to you free of charge. Most importantly, lessons should always be fun and productive! I want to share my knowledge with you while encouraging you to do your best. Leaving with a smile on your face is extremely important to me! A further breakdown of how the lesson can go: For All Instruments: Music theory, learning to read music notation, and understanding rhythms are areas of focus as well as reading guitar tablature if desired. For Vocals: Vocal warm-up and techniques will teach you the proper way to sing and protect your voice from strain. Belting the proper way is taught and finding a 'cutting', strong sound is achieved through many exercises. I will get you to sound the way you've always known you can sound! *** Studio Equipment *** Keyboard, Guitar, Violin *** Travel Equipment *** Guitar, Violin *** Specialties *** Rock, Blues, Pop styles Vocal Technique/Styling Performance Technique

Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
