Joshua P.

I went to GW for two years and then transferred to NYU. I majored in English. My overall GPA is a 3.5. My goal is to be a clinical psychologist. I found I wanted to be a clinical psychologist when I took a course on Personality. I spent a summer in Peru teaching ESL to Peruvian elementary and middle school students and really enjoyed it. When I got back, I taught SAT prep to high school students in New York City. I like teaching because it's so rewarding to help people get better at things. When I'm tutoring, if possible I ask to look at the student's syllabus so that I can get a sense of what direction we're going to be heading in (that way, as we go along, we can lay the groundwork for whatever is coming up). Then, we get to work. I try to give very clear explanations of the material so that the student knows exactly what's going on. Then, I give them practice problems in order to check their understanding. if there's something they don't understand, I try to zero in on exactly what that is. Fun Facts: My favorite thing to eat is my girlfriend's stewed goat. I like shopping for clothes at Uniqlo and groceries at Fairway. I like to talk sports. I really like listening to Reggaeton music and studying foreign languages.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
