“ Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire” –Yeats Over the course of 10 years teaching experience, I have gained tremendous success teaching clarinet to students young and old. I have taught in conservatories as well as privately, and have refined my methods of teaching the passionate rigor which music demands. I currently have a private studio where I teach, on 72nd Street in Manhattan. I can also travel to your home. I teach Classical and Klezmer music, to kids and adults who have never played an instrument before, as well as advanced players. I also teach theory. I am a devoted teacher, and over so many years, I feel what I have to offer my students has grown exponentially. I know how to work with individuals on their own terms, and have a good sense of how my own playing can help inspire and guide my students. About me: I am a third generation clarinet player, whose unique, colorful sound has been widely praised. I have been playing solo concerts since the age of fifteen. I graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music, where I studied with Yevgeny Yehudin (Principal clarinet, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra). Other teachers include Ilya Schwartz Principal clarinet, Camerata Orchestra) Michael Gurfinkel (Principal clarinet, Israeli Opera Orchestra), and currently Charles Neidich. I have taken master classes with Sabine Meyer, Giora Feidman, Philippe Cuper, Alexander Fiterstein, Eli Even, Richard Lesser, and Guy Deplus. I have over 9 years teaching experience, teaching both private and group instruction, at conservatories and schools including Migdal Haemek Community Center, Petach Tikva Conservatory of Music, Kfar Yona School of Music, Tel Aviv Conservatory, and recently the Conservatory of Netanya. Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
