Natasha M.

I am an 18-year-old sophomore with junior standing in college. I am passionate about the sciences both social and hard sciences. I love working in the lab and spend extra time working on skills whenever I can. I am pediatric and adult CPR/AED/First Aid certified and I have been looking into becoming an EMT-Basic. I love working with people and I have worked in the food and customer service industry. My various positions have been a waitress/cashier/food prep in a bakery and an outreach caller in a telephone bank. I especially enjoy working with children and have volunteered as a tutor and as a museum docent at a nature preserve which allowed me to work with children and teach them about different exhibits. Currently, I am interested in going to graduate school or medical school to become a biological anthropologist. I have previously volunteered tutoring elementary school children in reading and comprehension at Eddison Elementary School in Henderson, NV. I was volunteering there for about a month and would tutor one on one by having the students read books designated by the teacher with the vocabulary that the student needed to work on. I would assist in pronunciation and comprehension of the vocabulary. In addition, I have three younger brothers who I have helped with homework countless times. While it is unofficial, it was a helpful experience to prepare me for working with children and on my teaching skills. I like to make subjects interesting and therefore will try to find real world ways to apply the subject as well as relate it to the students personal interests. I like to use past exams and homeworks to start working from and then delve into the new topics in order to prepare the students for complete mastery of a subject. For me, an important area to emphasis would be critical and logical thought and so I try to promote that skill as best I can. Fun Facts: My biggest hobby is baking. I have previously worked in a French bakery and I continue to bake often in my own kitchen. I knit, sew, and am an avid reader. I spend a lot of time in lectures and in lab because I am extremely passionate about the sciences and my studies. I love pretty much any animal, especially cats.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
