If you or your child is interested in taking piano/keyboard, guitar, voice lessons, or if your child is in need of academic tutoring, I would really like to be your instructor! You have the option of my traveling to your home, or you are welcome to my home studio, conveniently located in Anaheim. To tell you a little about myself, I was raised in a musical family introduced to music at a very young age. I took piano, organ, guitar, glockenspiel, and voice lessons for many years, and participated in music recitals. I enjoyed singing, and with my music theory background, participated in vocal/piano recitals, involved myself in every school musical, joined every choir, participated in out-of-state voice sight reading competitions, and ultimately joined the New York All State Choir. After graduating from school, I focused on teaching children how to read sheet music and play the piano and guitar within parochial schools, public elementary schools, private in-home lessons, and instructed adults for the Continuing Education Music Programs located within Rockland County, New York and Orange County, California. Regarding my experience as an academic tutor, I currently tutor students through the No Child Left Behind Program, private tutoring for Special Education students, and home schooled my child through the Anaheim Independent Study Program from 9th grade through her successful 12th grade graduation. I am very familiar with elementary and high school grade multiple subjects, the online technology for education, and the study/assignment criteria. This is a wonderful tool to enhance students Grade Average, SAT and Exit Exam Scores. In understanding the value of tutoring a child that is exhibiting difficulty in a subject matter, the evidence shows a significant increase in student aptitude when placed with a tutor. I look forward to meeting you, and getting you started on your way to a lifetime of much fulfillment. *** Lesson Details *** The goal of music/academic education is to empower the student to experience learning as a source of personal enrichment, a vehicle for the constructive expression of human emotions, and as a unique intellectual discipline. This goal will be attained through a structured, sequential program of study: - Motivate all students to engage in the learning process designed individually through text or on-line. - An ability to establish and maintain high standards for student performance. - A demonstration of deep knowledge of the subject taught and the use of appropriate instructional strategies that promote student understanding. - An ability to plan and implement a sequence of appropriate instructional activities. - An ability to evaluate and assess student achievement and areas of improvement. - Communicate effectively with students and parents presenting goals clearly. Each student interested in expanding their knowledge and abilities in voice, piano/keyboard or guitar will be introduced to reading music and asked to practice the lesson plan each week at home. With practice, you will see your abilities grow stronger and stronger, and you will be able to play and sing along to music with ease. We will be working from lesson books specifically designed for you, and each weekly lesson will be documented in a notebook as a daily practice reference guide. Through active involvement, you will build a foundation for a lifetime of participation and enjoyment in music, and at the same time have fun while learning. Music and Academic Education help develop self confidence, and within a very short time you will be amazed at your own abilities! *** Studio Equipment *** H.F.Miller Upright Piano - Full Casio Keyboard - Student Casio Keyboard - Sustaining Pedal - Microphone - Headphone - Yamaha Guitar - Student Guitar - Electronic Tuner - Capo. *** Travel Equipment *** Full Casio Keyboard - Student Casio Keyboard - Sustaining Pedal - Microphone - Headphone - Yamaha Guitar - Student Guitar - Electronic Tuner - Capo. *** Specialties *** Soft Rock, Top 40's, Country, Spiritual, Standards, Movie/Broadway/Show Tunes, Holiday Music.

Noodle says

Takelessons started as a platform to for music teachers, and is still strongest on that front. It provides tutors with organizational software designed to help track lessons, and so probably attracts more tech-friendly, highly organized tutors. No vetting or training is provided for tutors, so we highly recommend that you use their ratings and reviews when selecting a tutor.

TakeLessons says

Success in learning often depends on finding the right teacher; someone that not only has expertise in the subject, but also knows how to inspire. The teaching style that works for one student may not work for another. As a parent or student, how do you find the right match? As a teacher, how do you find new students that fit your style? TakeLessons bridges this gap.
