I am very enthusiastic and energetic. I am a senior, graduating early, from Coppin State University. I am very intelligent, hardworking, and enjoy helping others. I have been tutoring since my freshman year in college. I started out with elementary school students from Rosemont Elementary; helping with reading, writing, and mathematics. I currently tutor Coppin Academy High School students as an AVID tutor; preparing the students for HSA exams, assisting them in homework related to almost any subject, and serving as a mentor guiding them into college. In order to be an effective tutor I take the following approach. First, I like to get a feel for the student in regards to their level of understanding with the material. Once I get a baseline, I can then work with the teacher and parents to discover a course of action. After a plan is created, I like to get right into the tutoring sessions. During those sessions my goals include assisting with homework, preparing for exams, going over concepts that I feel need to be reinforced, and begin introducing concepts prior to the student being taught in class. After a few weeks of sessions, I would like to see an increase in the student’s comprehension of the material and an increase in homework, quiz, and test grades. Fun Facts: I love playing softball. My favorite color is pink. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
