Christine Y.

I attended University of Washington in Seattle for the first two years of college. I transferred to CSU Sacramento into the nursing program. I am completing my first year in the program. My cumulative GPA is 3.929. I plan to work as a Registered Nurse after I graduate next May for a year or two before going back to graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner. As a junior in high school, I was a member of the after school tutoring program. I tutored a freshman taking Spanish I and Biology once weekly. Last summer, I tutored an 8th grade foreign exchange student from Korea with English/grammar. I also tutored a 5th grader with general science and math. I would love to help more students who need that extra bump through Frog Tutoring! When I first moved to America from South Korea, I struggled with reading comprehension and writing. Once I became proficient in English, I began to have a hard time with math - ever since geometry. My parents signed me up for numerous tutors, through programs like Frog Tutoring and through family friends. I believe everyone has a unique way of learning and I really respect that, especially after seeing my younger brother struggle in school despite multiple tutors. I try to figure out what strategy of learning students learn best from and really try to implement that. I like to challenge students and ask questions to make sure that they really understand the concepts that we are studying. In this way, I think that not only is the student learning, but I am also learning from the students.Fun Facts: My favorite type of exercise is Zumba because I get to dance, listen to music, sweat, and have fun at the same time! I also enjoy baking and trying new recipes. Speaking of food..I am a Yelp elite and absolutely love trying new places to eat.

Frog Tutoring says

In 2009, Roland Omene, a TCU bio-chemistry graduate, founded Frog Tutoring. The company originated in Fort Worth, TX, and is quickly expanding to cities all over the country. Frog Tutoring was founded under the belief that all students deserve tutoring regardless of age. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is finding the “right” tutor. That is why we only hire the top students and graduates from local colleges in the area. Each one of our well-trained tutors specializes in at least one area of expertise and is eager to aid in the academic success of the students they tutor. Frog Tutors are not just intelligent individuals, but role models who inspire their students to achieve success both academically and personally. - See more at: http://frogtutoring.com/about_us#sthash.ov47ISCO.dpuf
