Nick maintains a multi-faceted career as a professional singer, private music instructor, music educator, worship leader, and clinician. Nick is currently a candidate for a degree in Music Education at SUNY Buffalo State. Nick actively maintains a private studio for vocal, string, and piano music. Nick has performed all over the New York State area. He has sung the National Anthem at various locations. These locations include Canisus College for sporting events and Coca Cola Field for the Buffalo Bisons. Nick has also performed at the National 4-H and FFA Conference in Rochester. Nick performs in many Buffalo State Ensembles including, Chamber Choir, Chorale, and Philharmonia. He has performed with Amanda Nagurney and is frequently asked to participate in recitals. Nick has performed at numerous music festivals including ECMEA and NYSSMA, as well as sung in local area competitions. Along with Vocal Music, Nick plays violin and viola in various quartets, and teaches at various clinics across the state. He has studied Voice with Dr. Holly Bewlay, Mr. Robert Vehar, and Mrs. Susan B Shaw. Nick has studied Viola with Ms. Kate Holzemer, Mrs. Charlene Brooks, and Ms. Nora Murnane-Robertson. He has studied Piano with Dr. Emily Boyce, Anna Maimine, as well as Violin, Cello, and Upright Bass with Mrs. Pamela Fishback Christie. *** Lesson Details *** All students will gain many skills to become successful musicians by taking lessons with me. All students will learn how to practice and explore their instruments in a safe and inviting way. The basic lesson will cover various warm-ups, scales, and working on various repertoire that the student wants to work on! Performing is a major part in taking lessons. Musicians just don't want to take lessons, but that want to show people that they can play/sing. All of my students will be given the proper coaching to be a successful performer, and timely notice of upcoming auditions. I will teach my lessons using The National Standards for Music Education, as well as the Common Core Standards set by New York State department of Education for the Arts, I employ these standards in class to help each student develop musical skills, and develop their musical perspective. Using researched-based teaching methods, I strongly can state, that I produce life long music students that can effectively practice on their own, and stand on their ability to be a well-rounded musician. *** Studio Equipment *** My studio has almost everything that a musician should need for a successful lesson and a great performance. I have many speakers, mixing boards, microphones, and a whole lot more! *** Travel Equipment *** Students will provide a piano or keyboard relatively close to being in tune. Their own instrument and a CD player. *** Specialties *** I have performed all styles and types of music, from Classical, Pop, Broadway and Country. For Classical Music I can perform in English, Italian, French, and German. I have been chosen to perform at many sporting events, including the Buffalo Bisons, and many local college sporting events. I have also been chosen to sing at National Conferences throughout the country.
