I teach writing and research at Boston University with a focus on science fiction, technology, and artificial intelligence. I've taught at four other universities/college in the Boston area (Emerson, Northeastern, Quincy, and Lesley) and two in Michigan (Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University, where I also taught and coached the mock trial team).

I also worked for five years at the Boston Collegiate Charter School, where I taught AP Literature and Composition and World Literature. I taught gifted middle and high schoolers in the Academically Talented Youth Program for two years in Michigan.

I earned my BA from the University of Michigan (English and creative writing) and my MFA from the University of British Columbia (writing). I'm also a freelance writer.
