TEDxRobertCollege -- Jake Becker -- The Faces We Make

Jake Becker is an English teacher at Robert College. He is from Wisconsin, USA. He has lived in Germany and Japan. He derives energy from sudden, honest moments and he holds out hope that some day in his current city of Istanbul, bikes and pedestrians will be as powerful as cars. In this talk, Jake Becker draws our attention to our facial expressions and questions our sincerity. To what extent are we conscious of our faces? Do we grow out of certain expressions? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
