PRACTICE & TRAINING: Creative Visualization Techniques Andrew for FREE lesson Handouts. This Video: December 13, 2011 | Search Videos by Title/Date.GO TO: Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question...Q: I purchased one of your Accelerated Learning eBooks and was hoping you could run through (in more detail) the whole concept of Visualization applied to learning guitar. In the eBook, it discusses the concept as being based upon memory recall and imagination. But, I'm still unclear on how this actually should be experienced. Thanks!- Todd -- Dallas, TX. United StatesA: I was first introduced to this topic while studying guitar at the Musicians Institute back in 1991. The course, we had there, (which dealt with this Visualization concept), was called The Accelerator Program. That course covered a lot of information, but the idea within it (revolving around visualization) was a big factor within it's inner workings and definitely was a major role for it's intended outcome. In fact, I can remember a quote up on the wall in a classroom at Musicians Institute that said, "If you can see it, feel it, and hear it... you can play it." Now, this might sound a little out-there at first, but once you get going with applying visualization on a daily basis, it most certainly will end up making a big difference in your ability to not only recall information, but the real surprise can occur with the improvements which happen over time with one's technical skill and accuracy. In the video we'll have a look at what happens when this very normal visual thought process is used by guitarists to help us develop, apply and retain knowledge for both the fingerboard and the development of all kinds of guitar techniques. The complete lesson /article for this video will be available on the Creative Guitar Studio and Andrew Wasson Blog websites shortly.
