Writing Send Automation - Pro Tools 9

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: Automating your sends is useful if you'd like to do something like add reverb later on in a track. You can automate that effect. Directions 1. Open a session in Pro Tools and go to the mix window. In this tutorial, all the drums have been sent to a submix track. Learn about this in the Set Up Submixes lesson in the Set Up Your Mix chapter. A reverb delay unit has already been set up on an aux track. This is covered in the Use Delay Effect lesson in the Effect Processors chapter. 2. Click on the Bus 1-2 send on your drums submix channel strip. This brings up the fader window for this submix. At the bottom of the fader window, click the menu bar under AUTO. Select write. 3. Begin playing the track. Whenever you move the fader, it'll record and remember those movements. It's the same for the pan. Remember, don't raise the fader too high! 4. Stop the song, then click on the AUTO menu bar and select read (or auto-latch). Play the track again, and the fader will move using the automated fader settings. Read more by visiting our page at:
