Kanye West Compares Himself to Hitler

Bestselling Learn Guitar on Android! Kanye West is no stranger to controversy. In 2005, the hip-hop singer infamously declared on a Hurricane Katrina benefit that "George Bush doesn't care about black people." The following year, West appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone as Jesus. And let's not forget the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards moment when West boldly interrupted Taylor Swift's award speech by proclaiming Beyonce's video was better. Now, in 2011, we have Kanye referring to himself as Hitler. The strange remark took place during the Big Chill festival in England, where the 34-year-old singer went on a long diatribe about his role as an artist fighting the media and corporate sponsorship. "I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm F-ing insane, like I'm Hitler," West said on stage before some 40,000 fans. "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did." So what do you think? In Kanye West a misunderstood genius, or the "jackass" that Barack Obama called him in 2009? Leave a comment below and let us know.
