Photoshop Tutorial - Destroy City - Erase and Replace

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: In this video, Mahalo's Photoshop expert Justin Zagri demonstrates how to erase and replace a portion of a building to make it look like it's partially destroyed. Erase and Replace --------------------------------------------------------------------- Select the Eraser Tool and adjust the brush settings in the top options panel. You'll want to choose a different pattern, such as the one that's numbered 24. This will give you more of a "chalky" pattern when you erase. Also, make sure the Mode is set to Brush. Begin erasing part of the building you want to manipulate.? Once you have a nice chunk removed, you'll want to replace the missing piece with a dilapidated part of a building. You can conduct a Google image search to find one. Grab the Marquee Tool and select a good portion of the building image you find. Right-click on your selection and choose Layer via Copy.? You can then paste the selection over the part of the building you erased in the cityscape. You'll now need to send this layer with the wrecked building selection behind the cityscape. Grab the layer you've just created and move it below the main cityscape layer. You'll need to Transform the selection to resize it and make it fit with the floors of the other building by pressing Ctrl+T (Command+T for Mac). You may also need to rotate it slightly to make the floors parallel with each other. If you need the wrecked building to take up more space, right-click on the layer and select Duplicate Layer. Name it appropriately and click OK.? Drag the duplicated layer up or down to fill in any empty areas. In order to make it look more realistic, you'll need to have a sense of controlled chaos. Think about the structure of the building and remove parts that would naturally be destroyed in a war-like setting. Grab the Eraser Tool and adjust the Size of the brush to erase only certain parts between floors. Read more by visiting our page at:
