College Degrees

A college degree is a certification of academic completion and achievement. They are generally handed out at graduation and at the completion of an undergraduate degree. The most common college degree is a BA (Bachelor of Arts). Students may also earn certificates or accreditation which will be reflected either on the degree or in a separate ceremony. BA's can be handed out with three tiers of distinction: summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude. Of these latin honors, summa cum laude is the highest academic achievement.
