Visiting Assistant Professor, NYU and Reading Specialist
Carolyn H. Strom focuses on the ways in which reading and vocabulary interventions work for children from linguistically diverse and high-poverty backgrounds. Currently, she is leading professional development efforts with teachers in New York City public schools focusing on how to better meet the needs of beginning and dyslexic readers. She earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree in Reading Education from the University of Southern California. She earned her PhD from New York University in 2013. She was also featured as one of Noodle's "67 Influential Educators Who Are Changing the Way We Learn in 2015".
