It depends, I would recommend it for individuals who do not mind over 3,000 students in one school. South Gate High School would also be a good school for students who enjoy joining different clubs, because there are clubs for everyone. On the other hand, I would not recommend South Gate High School to students who do not like to take initiative. At a school that has so many students it makes it difficult to learn about opportunities if you do not go find them yourself. I would also say that it is very hard for some individuals to learn because there are so many students in one classroom. In the end, it all depends on the student, whether or not they would be able to learn in an enviornment where there are a lot of people and where you have to make sure you are aware of what is going on.

There is both good and bad things about attending South Gate High School, and ultimately I would agree that it is not the best school. The reason why I would not recommend going to South Gate High is because of the lack of resources. The class sizes are unusually big, averaging out to about 40 students per one teacher. Books are outdated, supplies are scarce, information is unevenly distributed, there is one counselor to 500 students, which makes it difficult to be aware of scholarship opportunities, and there are many students who do not take advantage of the opportunities that are handed to them.

All encompassing, there are too many factors that lead me to believe that I would not have attended South Gate High School. I was not aware of the lack of resources that my school suffered from until I met with students outside of LAUSD who told me stories about how they have laptops available to them and that there are only 20 students per class, and that they even receive free SAT Prep, which was fascinating to me! Everyone deserves an outstanding education, but with limited resources it can be difficult to achieve.

Yes, I would recommend anyone and everyone to go to South Gate Senior High School. I have so much pride for my school. I can't help it. South Gate Senior High School is such a spirited school. There is so much pride in my school, I can't even find the words to explain it. There are so many opportunities at this school academic wise. If you wanted to, you could create any club you want to start. There's a video game club at my school, so that's pretty amazing. South Gate is such a social school. You might just end up recognizing everyone at some point.
