The three most popular extracurriculars at Opelousas High School are Boys Basketball, Boys and Girls Track and Field, and Cheerleading. I would recommend joining the the Drama Club, which I love and am a member, Jazz Classique, dance team for which I am captain, and Future Teachers of America, an amazingly wonderful organization that explores community outreach in nursing homes and local businesses.

One of the extracurricular activities at my school that i recommend is Color guard (also known as Flag Team). I've been enrolled in it for a year soon to be two now. As captain, I make sure it is fun and a great experience. In my eyes, flag is just another form of dancing. It is great being apart of something that is so recognizable. Another extracurricular activity that i recommend FFA. It is a positive group focusing on making a difference in lives, being a leader, and growing as a person. I myself, am not enrolled in it but one of my dearest friend is and she enjoys it. Last but not least, i would recommend school journalism. Journalism is gathering information and news to put into an article then presenting it to a group, or other students.
