A typical student at Ole Miss is very studious and outgoing. Most students attend class on a regular basis, not missing any class time to achieve their degree. We all understand success comes from what you do outside the classroom as well, so most of us participate in community service events to make the community a better place while simultaneously building our own personal characters.

A person who is looking for a new beginning and willing to experience new things. My first semester at the University of Mississippi was so amazing. There is so much to do and with all of that going on you have to remain a strong head and focus. It all happens so fast and it can steer you off the path you are trying to go, if you let it. It is all about a strong mindset and understanding that there is time for work and play. In college you have no one telling you what to do, no one is hassling you to be in at a certain time or telling you what you can and can not do, and no one is certainly telling you constantly to do your homework or study. If you want to attend the university of Mississippi or any other university you have to be focused and ready for whatever life throws your way. Nothing is easy but it is better if you prepare ahead of time. Overall the University of Mississippi is a great school and has several bright and promising students.

The typical University of Mississippi Student consists of someone who has established themselves academically while attending high school in order to endure the rigors of the University's curriculum. A Student should also be well rounded and participate in numerous events such as clubs, sports, and other activities besides the academic requirements. Lastly, a Student should be well diverse culturally, as Mississippi is generally a "bubble" where the local populace is ignorant with other cultures besides the African American and Caucasian cultures.

He should also be available to pick up his friends from the "square" at any time should the friend be unable to drive. So smart, flexible, and compassionate.

A large percentage of the student population consists of Greeks -- sorority sisters and fraternity brothers. Greek life is taken very seriously at this school and is an excellent door to making many connections and being invited to lots of fun social events and parties. However, the rest of the student body is extremely diverse. There are many international students and students studying international studies who love to host events to celebrate worldwide cultures and broaden the horizens of other students. There are lots of students involved in environmental awareness, social issues, community service projects in the local area and around the world, and plenty of athletes (both of the SEC and video game types!) just to name a few. There really is a place for everyone at Ole Miss.
