3 of the most popular extracurricular activities at Ward Melville are Sports, Key Club and National Honors Society. Me, not being in the slightest bit sporty, could not weigh in on that part of Ward Melville, however watching the games is definitely a highlight of my High School career. National Honors Society and Key Club, both of which I am a part of, are extremely rewarding and fun. Honestly without being too cheesy, I love the feeling you get from Key Club. It has brought me new friends and taught me a lot about thinking of others. I am a huge advocate for getting involved in extracurricular activities since joining NHS and Key Club.

Our literary magazine Cinnabar is a club that every writer should be a part of. We do writing activities every week, set up school fundraising events called Coffeehouses, and we work hard to create our annual publication with the work of Ward Melville students. Ward Melville's Women's Forum is an extremely fulfilling club for all girls passionate about women's rights and helping the community. We visit one of the elementary schools in our district every Monday to teach sixth grade girls lessons about diversity, leadership, and teamwork. We also work to spread awareness in Ward Melville for the issue of gender inequality and the ways that we can work together to make things more equal for everyone. Ward Melville's newspaper, Kaleidoscope is also a great club for writers and anyone who's passionate about spreading information about important news. We consistently update our online newspaper with new articles that we write, and we produce two print newspapers every year and distribute copies to the entire district community.
