As a public school Marshall is open to everyone. But if you're looking for an AP curriculum then Marshall would not be the place to go. However I would argue that, while AP has its strengths, the IB nature of classes encourages high level thinking and analysis that you may not find in an AP environment

Students who don't care should not attend Marshall High School. Marshall is an unbelievably driven and ambitious community. The students are committed to succeeding in whatever it is they are working towards. Our school boasts artists and academics, musicians and actresses, and even athletes and goofballs. This wide array of interests creates a diverse community in which different areas can be explored but only by those who are truly invested in what they do. It seems unlikely that an entire high school would be populated by teenagers who genuinely care, but Marshall acts as an outlier. The students care about their grades, their peers, and how they affect the community around them and because of this if a student who doesn't care should not attend Marshall High School.

A student who does not want to graduate should not attend Marshall High School. The teachers and administration do not allow students this option. If students are struggling, they are placed in advisory periods and/or study skills with a teacher who works with them to help them succeed. Students are also given the opportunity to attend The Learning Center to help them succeed in their educational goals. They are also given the opportunity to complete credit recovery and MO Options to help them earn a diploma. With so many safety nets, students are not allowed to not graduate.
